IF you thought August was drier than usual you were right.
According to NIWA’s monthly weather stats, Wellington had 75mm of rain , just over half the amount usually expected.
However, we weren’t the driest, Christchurch had well below their usual rainfall levels with just 18mm.
Of the main centres, Auckland was the warmest, wettest and cloudiest while Tauranga was the sunniest.
